Service areas
At Clonargen Biotech, every stage of the process is carried out under scientific protocols, specialized infrastructure, and a dedicated team for reproductive and neonatal management.
Genetic Bank
We offer comprehensive biopsy collection services and genetic preservation through cryobanking, storing over 400 equine specimens of historical significance. Our Genetic Bank houses some of the most important genetic material in global equine production, supporting horse breeding and equine cloning initiatives worldwide.
Stem Cell Generation
We develop and adapt protocols that allow us to obtain stem cells from different origins to be used in cloning or in regenerative therapies applied to high performance sport horses. We have a cryobank of stem cells from our own genetics and a team of professionals trained to take samples in case the application of autologous cells (from the injured animal itself) is required. At Clonargen Biotech we have infrastructure for the maintenance of donors during the embryo production program and a team of professionals trained to obtain oocytes remotely (Ovum Pick Up, OPU). Once the embryos are obtained, they are stored in our cryobank until they are transferred.
ICSI
ICSI (Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection) is a powerful tool to produce embryos from high value oocyte donors and males of proven performance. In addition, it represents comparative advantages with respect to in vivo procurement, among which the following stand out: - Obtaining oocytes from old mares or mares with reproductive problems. - Embryo production throughout the year. - Utilization of stallions that for different reasons are unable to provide services. - Possibility of using sexed semen. - More foal production per year per donor. By producing embryos with the ICSI technique, 75 mares are pregnant out of every 100 embryos.

We create genetically identical clones using advanced equine cloning techniques, preserving excellence across all equine disciplines. Our horse cloning services support horse breeders by maintaining the genetic quality of elite horses, ensuring their exceptional traits endure for future generations, and making a significant genetic impact in the equine industry.
Embryo Cryopreservation
Embryo Cryopreservation is a powerful tool that decouples production timing and location from the transfer process. Our expertise in vitrification and embryo cryopreservation ensures optimal embryo viability, achieving birth rates comparable to those of fresh embryos. This technique enhances animal cloning and supports horse breeders in their horse breeding programs.
